(About)
Since 1995 Thomas Kluge has been one of the most notable portrait painters in Denmark. His breakthrough came in 2000 with the official portrait of Queen Margrethe II, and he has since painted the royal family and leading figures from business, culture and politics.
Magtens Maler at Sønderborg Slot is about power and symbolism in his portraits, painted in dialogue with the court painters of the 1600s. For the exhibition we made a film about Thomas Kluge and the art of the portrait.
